A Much Needed New Roof
Plans have been put in for a much needed new roof for the Community Centre. The existing roof on the community centre is long overdue an upgrade and is now unrepairable. Back in 2018 a report was undertaken showing the need for the existing agricultural roof to be replaced as areas are no longer watertight and beyond repair. The Parish Council are left with no alternative but to replace the roof as a matter of urgency . The Parish Council plan to replace the rotten metal roof with a tiled roof for longevity thus exceeding the life of the centre which is a valuable resource for the residents of Hellesdon.
The new roof is in keeping with the area and of similar design and style of the Council Offices. Objective 4 of the neighbourhood plan is to protect and enhance local community facilities, the Parish Council hope that by doing the roof this way that this will ensure the community centre is still standing for many years to come . These works are to be funded by Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) contributions by funding received from building developers in the Parish, and a lone from PWLB at a advantages low fixed rate . The Parish Council Hope to start the work later in the year.
Additionally we have been busy decorating and deep cleaning the Community Centre.
