The Warm Room Gives the Warmest of Welcomes
Hellesdon Parish Council has designated a room within the Community Centre, which is now known as the Warm Room. It has been created to support local people who are finding it difficult to heat their own properties.
Local people came out in force to donate books, DVDs and board games. Local businesses dug deep to make sure people of all ages feel comfortable and welcome. Norwich Airport made a generous donation which enabled us to purchase a Smart TV, stand and DVD player. Some toys were donated by Kerrisions for the younger visitors and Hab-a-Go has donated some winter wear and blankets for those in need.
Our Warm Room is a non-judgmental space; whatever the reason you have for needing to come in, you’ll be treated the same as any person using Hellesdon Community Centre, and with respect. It will be open when the community centre is open, which is typically 8am – 10pm Monday – Saturday.
Tea and coffee are available from the kitchenette on a self-service basis.
